woman with appleAbsolutely Feng shui, which is the energy in your home, can affect your health. Feng shui can support you in staying healthy and increasing your energy.

Your personal energy reacts with the energy in your house. Here are some important things you can do to keep you and your family’s health in balance.

  1. A health basic is to keep your house clean, as well as uncluttered. Low-level clutter and dirt can create low-level health problems.
  1. Light is energy. Light is health. Light is a nutrient to your body and mind. Feng shui is about energy and light is the strongest energy. Light from outside should be allowed to come into the house through windows to prevent sunlight deficiency. Adequate lighting inside your home is necessary. Dr. John Ott, a light researcher found that there are harmful effects of fluorescent lighting on humans, such as learning abilities and overall health, in fact the use of cool white fluorescent lights has been legally banned in Germany at a Federal level.
  1. The East compass area of your home represents Health and Family. Place a lush plant or something green or brown to activate the health energy. To make this energy even stronger add a small water fountain or something blue.
  1. Sleep is vital for good health. You have a personal health direction where the energy constantly flows to you to benefit your health. By sleeping with the crown of your head against that direction your health can be enhanced. If you can’t sleep with your head against that direction, at least sleep with your crown against one your other three personal magnetic directions. 1. Good quality air is vital for good health. Make sure you open your windows and allow outside air to come in. Also keep luscious green plants in your home, which purify the air (but not in the bedroom).
  1. Good conversation and friends are also good for health. Keep a happy kitchen with a bright, friendly,    well-organized kitchen. The color yellow is excellent for digestion.

Here’s to your Feng shui health!

amusing-yellow-kitchen-walls-white-cabinetsYellow is a cheerful color and a delight in most places in your home. It wakes up the room like adding sunshine or light to the room.

It brings in uplifting vibrations and brightens the room. It also brings in warmth and creates a cozy and welcoming feeling. It is good for health and makes any kitchen feel like a place you want to hang out. It lifts the energy and keep the corners of the room from collecting dark, dense, energy. The yellow vibration supports personal self worth.

There are many shades of yellow from soft butter yellow to a hot fire yellow. When using the hot fire yellow, it is important to use it in smaller amounts so as not to overload the area with fire energy.

Yellow can be used nicely in the following areas:

  • Center (Heart of your home)
  • South (Reputation and Recognition
  • Southwest (Love, Romance, and Marriage)
  • Northeast (Spiritual Growth)
  • East (Health and Family)
  • West (Creativity and Children)
  • Southeast (Income and Prosperity)
  • Northwest (Helpful people)

Find a place to brighten you home with yellow decorations, carpet, drapes, painting, or flowers.

Feng shui Tips for Where to Place Your Sofa

Your sofa is energy

Your sofa is energy

Your Sofa is one of the most important pieces of furniture in your living room or family room. You want the energy of your sofa to be perfect for the comfort and harmony in your home.

Here are few Feng shui tips and things to keep in mind about where to place your sofa:

1) Don’t place your sofa directly facing the main door. This can create diminished prosperity. If you must do this, put a plant or a small piece of furniture between the sofa and your front door to break up the energy rushing in your front door. This will protect those sitting on it. It is perfectly okay if the couch faces the door of a room, but not the front entry door.

2) It’s best not to have a light directly above the sofa hanging from the roof or to have the sofa located under a beam. It’s also best not to place a mirror behind the sofa. Sometimes people do this to make the room look bigger. If you do this, take good look what it is reflecting. It is something that will enhance the energy and prosperity in your home? You could be enhancing things that are good or bad.

3) A good place for a sofa is against the wall because it gives you support. By placing the sofa against the window or door, there is no support for sofa. A second sofa or smaller one can have a window behind it. Also important to remember is that you do not put a fish tank behind the sofa.

4) Avoid too many pieces of furniture for the size of your room causing the living room to become crowded. In a crowded room the energy gets stagnant and blocked, creating obstacles to success for your family members

5) The shape of sofa is also important  as the sofa places such a key role in living room. L-shaped couches are not the best. A U-shaped or semi-circular shaped coach can help you retain more good energy. Of course a rectangle couch is also acceptable.
