First of all, black is not a color. It is the absence of light. Since energy has everything to light, it’s important to be careful with how much black you have in your home. It should be used sparingly.
Black is a color of night and of mystery. It brings in power as well as an element of protection. It brings strength and definition to wherever you place it in your home. It also represents the element of water. It goes well in the North to support your career goals (the area representing water), East and Southeast (the areas representing wood and water nourishes wood).
It can bring in a very heavy feeling if over used in any area. Places where black does not create a balanced energy in your home are in the South (representing Fire). Black should be limited in the entry of your home which is the mouth of your house. You should also be careful with it in children’s rooms, the kitchen and dining room.
Never paint a room black, however you can bring it in with furniture, picture frames, a black and white painting or pictures, and a mirror (which also represents water) with a black frame. Because of its ability to create denseness, never use it above eye level and always have the room with an abundance of black well lit.
