Feng Shui: Your Front Door – The Mouth of Your House
Your front door is one of the most important places in your home because that is where universal energy flows into it. When you enter your home, is there something blocking the energy flow? If there is, new opportunities, new relationships, and new prosperity are being blocked energetically.
The image below is my living room before I was aware of the powerful influence the Law of Attraction in my environment made in my life. On the right are double front doors and on the far left are four French doors. I had a huge couch placed in front of my door, to set the room off as a separate part of the house from the entry way. The incoming energy was immediately blocked because of the couch.
If I were to completely move the couch, it presented another situation which would not be optimal either. When the energy flowed in through the front doors, unfortunately, it immediately flowed out because I had a wall full of windows directly across the room. You can see this in the image below.
What did I do? I moved the huge couch so it sat at an angle, which opened up the room and created a better energy flow. I also moved my piano so that the energy flowed into my home, was not directly blocked, but was not able to flow unimpeded out on the other side of the room.
Look at your home and see how you can take advantage of the energy flowing into your home. Sometimes a large plant is just perfect to put in front of large doors or windows to help the energy flow.
Another important thing to remember is that you never want a mirror facing your front door because it will push the incoming prosperous energy away.
what if you enter through a mudroom….the mudroom has a door on each end(one from the front yard and one to the back patio, but on the far end of the mudroom (towards the patio) , a door to the left for the garage and a door to the right to the kitchen (which is where I always enter) how do I feng shui that?
I don’t think I’ve ever see a mud room. Use the floorpan of the house to determine which would more likely be the front, the entry, of the house.
the mudroom is where you enter (we new Englanders have these for to take off boots and mud and usually its a small unheated room between the house and the garage. I enter my house through this room. But should I be using the front door (which I never use) instead?
