Feng Shui Basics: How to Use Fountains in Your Home
Water is very important in the Feng Shui energy in your home because they bring in the energy of wealth and abundance. Water fountains can be placed on the floor, or on a table, inside or outside. Fountains do not have to have an oriental look unless your home is oriental. It is best to choose a fountain that goes with your décor.

One thing that is important is that the water in your fountain is not flowing away from you. The water itself should flow toward you or bubble up (as in a bubbling fountain). For example, the water of a fountain on your front porch should flow toward your front door. Even water images, such a paintings of seascapes or water should have water flowing toward you.
The very best places to put a fountain in your home are the East (Family, Health), Southeast (Finances) and North (Your future goals). The East and Southeast have the energy of wood and water enhances wood. The North has the energy of water.
Places not to put fountains are in the South, where the fire element resides. Water and fire energies are in conflict with each other. Another reason this is not the best is that the South impacts your Reputation and Recognition.
Keep water out of the bedroom. Water energy in the bedroom brings in emotional instability and worry. Keep fountains, water paintings, and even a major amount of the color blue out of the bedroom where you spend a great deal of your time. This is a place where passive energy flows into you as you sleep.

Water energy is soft and flowing. It brings in a calm, refreshing feeling. Mirrors can also bring in water energy so be careful you don’t have a mirror across from your bed. And remember to keep your mirror clean and sparkling.
